The project helps to ensure that grands are used in an efficient manner focusing on target groups and strengthening health systems. In this way, it boosts the effectiveness and sustainability of the funded measures.
BACKUP is currently preparing an assignment in Tanzania, consisting of an exploratory to identity existing good practices, challenges and gaps with regards to integrated basic health services and health service management for HIV, TB and malaria.
In order to foster a shift across the health system, with regards to how services are organized and delivered at the facility-level, and how they are incorporated into the programming and implementation of national disease programmes, it requires services to be planned so they are not disjointed and are easy for the users to navigate. This in turn means that providers. should have cross-programme management support systems (e.g. procurement and supply chain systems, health information systems, financial management systems) in place to enable integrated service delivery.
